Jazz
Overview
SIUE’s Master of Music with a specialization in jazz prepares students as both individual and collaborative artists equipped to enter the competitive, entrepreneurial landscape of modern jazz and commercial music. Students develop mastery of their primary instrument while building expertise in improvisation, composition, arranging, pedagogy, technology, and ensemble performance. Coursework emphasizes time, feel, sound, collaboration, and artistic individuality through small groups and large ensemble experiences.
